You are eligible if:

  • If you receive benefits from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), AND / OR
  • If you live in a NYSERDA-designated community. Check your address using this map.

All you need is an email address and a recent electric utility bill in your name. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to enroll residents that do not meet the criteria above due to market conditions.​​

Erie County is excited to announce its collaboration with AMPION to provide clean power and energy savings for our community through Community Solar. New York State facilitates Community Solar, which allows residents to lower their monthly utility bills and support locally generated solar power without the need for panel installation on their property.

These Community Solar projects located within our utility territories are on a first come, first served basis. Signing up is easy and free. Past due utility amounts don't matter! 

Once your application is complete, it may take 9 months or more before you see bill discounts. This is because your solar project is not yet active. However, once your solar project is active, you automatically receive bill credits, which can continue for 20 years or more!
