This series promotes Black-led togetherness, emotional support, and community healing for the Black community in the form of Sawubona Healing Circles, yoga and art workshops at locations on Buffalo's East Side. Sessions will run from November 2023 - January 2024.

Sawubona Healing Circles with Hope Consulting
"Sawubona" is a Zulu greeting meaning, "I see you."
African-centered, Black-led healing circles are offered to help address racial trauma and other forms of trauma in the Black community. Healing circles are supportive, safe, and private spaces for people to express thoughts, feelings, and stories. Anything shared during a circle will be kept confidential. Circles are not a replacement for therapy or mental health treatment. All materials needed for your session will be provided.
Healing-Centered Yoga with Afro Chick Yoga
Black-led yoga is offered to help address racial trauma and other forms of trauma in the Black community. Yoga involves physical movement, concentration and deep breathing. Movements are safe for all types of bodies. Anything you share during yoga will be kept confidential outside of the session. Yoga is not a replacement for therapy or mental health treatment. All materials needed for your session will be provided.
Art That Heals with John Baker and James Cooper
Black-led art workshops are offered to help address racial trauma and other forms of trauma in the Black community. These art workshops encourage self-expression through painting, drawing and other forms of art. Anything you share during the session will be kept confidential outside of the session. These sessions are not a replacement for therapy or mental health treatment. All materials needed for your session will be provided.
Healing Off Art with Eat Off Art
Black-led art workshops are offered to help address racial trauma and other forms of trauma in the Black community.
