Free Opioid Overdose Recognition & Naloxone (Narcan) Use Trainings

The training is aimed at achieving the following objectives:

  1. Understanding the Opioid Epidemic in Erie County and its impact today
  2. Recognizing signs and symptoms of opioid overdose
  3. Familiarizing with the Good Samaritan Law
  4. Learning about the Emergency Services Addiction Program (ESAP) and Syringe Exchange Program (SEP)
  5. Learning how to administer Narcan (naloxone) to reverse an overdose
  6. Reporting and follow-up procedures
  7. Participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded a certificate of completion and a kit consisting of two doses of naloxone, free of charge.
