Free Opioid Overdose Recognition & Naloxone (Narcan) Use Trainings
The training is aimed at achieving the following objectives:
- Understanding the Opioid Epidemic in Erie County and its impact today
- Recognizing signs and symptoms of opioid overdose
- Familiarizing with the Good Samaritan Law
- Learning about the Emergency Services Addiction Program (ESAP) and Syringe Exchange Program (SEP)
- Learning how to administer Narcan (naloxone) to reverse an overdose
- Reporting and follow-up procedures
- Participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded a certificate of completion and a kit consisting of two doses of naloxone, free of charge.
