The much anticipated Solar Eclipse will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024 from approximately 2:04PM to 4:32PM with the totality taking place from 3:18pm - 3:22pm. Erie County Parks will use this page to communicate information to the public about the eclipse, including viewing areas in the Parks, viewing safety, and traffic and parking information.
Can I book a campsite at Sprague Brook Park for the eclipse?
No, due to a variety of factors, we are not opening the campsites early for the eclipse.
Can I park by RV in a Erie County Park?
Overnight parking is not permitted in Erie County Parks. You may park your RV in a designated, open parking lot during park hours, which on April 8th will be from about 6:30am - 9:00pm.
Where can I watch the solar eclipse in Erie County Parks?
Each park will have designated viewing areas marked when you arrive at the park, as well as designated parking areas for visitors. Parks are expected to be popular viewing areas, so we strongly encourage you to walk to you local park as parking is limited in all parks and parking on grass or undesignated areas will not be permitted. Check back to this page and our social media outlets for park-specific information, including closure information.
