NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ERIE COUNTY AGRICULTURAL AND FARMLAND PROTECTION PLAN
At the direction of Erie County Legislative Chair, Timothy J. Meyers, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Legislature of the County of Erie, on the 22nd of October 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Town of Aurora Town Hall, 575 Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora, New York 14052, to hear comments on the Erie County Draft Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan as presented for consideration by the Erie County Legislature from the Erie County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board, in accordance with sec. 324 of NYS Agricultural and Markets Law.
The Draft Plan represents an update of the Plan that was adopted in 2012. The updated Plan reflects current agricultural conditions, presents new strategies to increase the economic viability of farming, encourages farmland protection, and provides recommendations to increase public interest and awareness of local agriculture.
A copy of the draft Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan is available at erie.gov/agplanupdate.
Comments will be accepted at the public hearing and written comments may be submitted by mail and email no later than 5:00 PM on October 21, 2025 and should be directed to:
