Long COVID

Some people who have been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 can experience long-term effects from their infection, known as Long COVID. Long COVID is broadly defined as signs, symptoms, and conditions that continue or develop after an initial COVID-19 infection. This definition of Long COVID was developed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in collaboration with CDC and other partners.

People call Long COVID by many names, including Post-COVID Conditions (PCC), long-haul COVID, post-acute COVID-19, long-term effects of COVID, and chronic COVID.

WNY Long COVID Recovery Center

The UBMD Long COVID Recovery Center is a multidisciplinary effort that aims to evaluate and provide support to those affected by Long COVID.

The UBMD Long COVID Recovery Center provides care for those with Long COVID, and connects those who have participated in the Long COVID Registry to health care and resources. To be scheduled at the Recovery Center, individuals must first complete the Long COVID Registry. Completing the registry allows providers to have a better understanding of your experience with long COVID prior to your appointment.

For more information, and to complete the registry, go to the WNY Long COVID Recovery Center website or call 716-323-0674.
