Lower Pay and Greater Barriers to Success

Each year, we identify Equal Pay Day as a symbolic day used to raise awareness around and combat the impact of pay inequities. Equal Pay Day 2025 was on March 25th and marks the current state of the gender pay gap for women: 83% for full-time, year-round workers and 75% for all workers (including part-time and seasonal)*.

This year, the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women (ECCSW) and Cornell ILR Buffalo Co-Lab released, Lower Pay and Greater Barriers to Success, a report on Women and Work and the persistent pay gap in Erie County commissioned by the ECCSW.

An overview of the study including methodology and findings was held on March 25th at the Buffalo History Museum.

A copy of the report and it's findings is available on the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women website.
