The Office of Public Safety is pleased to announce a series of two-day training seminars for program managers, chief law enforcement officers, and accreditation assessors. The trainings will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and be held in the following locations:
Erie County, July 22-23, 2025
Westchester County, October 21-22, 2025
Columbia County, October 28-29, 2025
This training satisfies the requirements of all newly assigned program managers in accordance with Standard 1.3 - Program Manager Training. In addition, all new assessors must attend this training before they can be considered for assignments. Those who have not applied but are interested in being an assessor may attend if they meet the minimum criteria set forth in the Request for Applications (noted in the attached memorandum).
This course will provide general program information on the day-to-day tasks that will lead to accreditation and provide basic information on maintaining that status as well as preparing students on how to conduct assessments. Additional on-the-job training for assessors will take place upon completion of this course once you are assigned to an assessment team. While not required, other currently active assessors are welcome to attend as a refresher, as this training has been updated.
This training is being hosted by DCJS so there is no cost to attend the course; however, expenses such as lodging and other travel costs are the responsibility of the attendee.
Pre-Registration is required. All interested parties must register no later than three weeks prior to the course. The location of training will be provided through an email confirmation approximately two weeks prior to the course.
