What is Crisis Intervention Team Training?

  1.  • Crisis Intervention Team training consists of 40 hours of education and scenario training and is designed for experienced law enforcement officers
  2. • The training is co-facilitated by representatives from law enforcement and the mental health system
  3. • Key Training Components:
  4. • Understanding common mental illnesses and their symptoms
  5. • Active listening and communication techniques
  6. • De-escalation strategies in crisis situations
  7. • Identifying available community mental health resources
