THIS CLASS IS SPECIFICALLY FOR PERSONS WHO HAVE COMPLETED PHASE 1
WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS
160 hours Field Training by Employing Agency, to be completed by October 24, 2025
Description: Pre-Employment – Phase 2 - Police Equivalency Course. After appointment, a police officer who completed the Pre-Employment Police Basic Training Course, within the last 2 years, must complete the second phase of training. Only sworn police officers may attend the Police Equivalency Course and receive certification. This applies to the units presented in the second phase of training.
**The first 2 weeks will consist of firearms and Active Shooter. A comprehensive equipment and list will be sent prior to the start of class. Proper attire instructions will also be sent.
160 hours of Field Training must be completed at the employing agency.
Target Audience: Newly sworn police officers who have completed the Pre-Employment Police Basic Training Course. Any Department anticipating hiring a pre-employment officer needing Phase II should contact the Academy ASAP as this course is scheduled based on demand.

There is no cost for Erie County Agencies. Out of county agencies will be charged a $1,000.00
registration fee.
