THE LAW ENFORCMENT TRAINING ACADEMY
In light of recent events in Western New York, the Academy is offering a class in:
TACTICAL EMERGENCY CASUALTY CARE (TECC)
REFRESHER COURSE
Overview:
This 4-hour course will cover basic TECC principles including MARCH application/principles and NIMS zone application (hot, warm, cold). The course will discuss the legal obligations of officers when faced with a medical or traumatic emergency. The class will include both discussion and hands-on training where students will practice basic medical skills such as tourniquet application, hemostatic dressing use and pressure dressing application.
Zone Application:
Classroom discussion will cover the basic principles of Hot, Warm and Cold zones. Students will review this terminology and zone designations. Application of the principles in both daily police response as well as dynamic situations such as aggressive deadly behavior response. Law Enforcement responsibilities within these zones. The role of a Rescue Task Force and law enforcement responsibilities related to an RTF deployment. Selecting and securing casualty collection points and basic medical treatments LEOs can perform.
MARCH:
Classroom and hands-on practicals will cover the basic principles of MARCH. Students will participate in hands-on applications of tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, pressure dressings, chest seals and the recovery position.

WHO: Open to all law enforcement officers
- There will be a limit of 25 participants. The class is strictly first come - first serve
- The Academy plans on running another course in the future, if interest is high
- No supplies are needed
- Please wear comfortable clothing
- You will be doing practical training so please arrive unarmed for the day
