Featured Producer: Weiss Farms

The Town of Eden, founded in 1812, has a long history of farming. At the time of its founding, most residents were in some way involved in agriculture and in fact, many of Eden’s farmers are the fourth or fifth generation of those original settlers.[1]

Today, Eden boasts approximately 40 active farms within it’s 39 square miles. A majority of soils in the Town are classified as ‘important’ as defined by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) while a smaller amount are classified as ‘prime soils’.[2] The presence of these productive soils, combined with the Town’s commitment to farmland protection, should ensure the Town’s agricultural legacy well into the future. One farm contributing to this legacy is Weiss Farms.

Weiss Farms grows over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and hemp. The Farm is best known for their heirloom tomatoes and peppers but is gaining notoriety for their hemp extract and has now started offering CBD products. The Farm also offers u-pick during strawberry season.

Weiss Farms is currently open Monday and Wednesday from 1:00-5:00 PM at their location in Eden. You can also find their products at the Elmwood Village Farmers Market, the South Buffalo Farmers Market, the Downtown County Market, and at Lexington Cooperative Markets. Delivery or curbside pick-up is available from any of their farmers markets locations. If visiting the Farm in Eden, please wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance.
