“In my search for healthier options of local and also better quality meats I came across north farms, very quick response and very easy to deal with. The beef is top quality and great people to do business with! Would recommend to anyone looking beef. Support local Farms” — Matt M.
“I purchased ½ of a side of beef from North Farms. I have never had such great tasting, high-quality beef ever! The quality, processing and whole experience was great and at a fair price. The smell - every single time - I cooked was amazing. My family loved it and my brother-in-law even posted about it on facebook! He said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. The Norths were very easy to do business with and I look forward to continuing to get my beef products at North Farms.” — Amanda S.

Our story
The farm sits just outside of town in Gowanda NY. The farm was originally started back in 1920 and since then 5 generations have had the pleasure of raising a variety of livestock and crops. While there have always been other critters roaming the farm the primary livestock was dairy cows. Up until last January(2023), we milked 65 head of holsteins with 2-3 jersey cows mixed in. We made the heavy decision to sell the milk cows in 2022. Yet we were one of the lucky ones who sold the milk cows and didn't end up with an empty barn. We decided to continue to raise the heifers we had already been raising, along with a small group of Angus crosses to begin our journey in the beef world.
Today we are roughly halfway through the beef transition and have begun renovating our barn to be more "Beef Friendly". This past year we have tackled individual cut sales with a USDA certified processing facility.
Cutos to 4H
It all began at the Cattaraugus County Fair.
In 2010 Anna entered the county fair with her first dairy steer, Poe. From there she was hooked. A total of 9 dairy steers were sold at the county fair over the years. Some shown by friends who did not grow up on a farm but wanted to experience the dairy steer program. Many awards were won but best of all many friends were made.
Little did we know ...this fun 4H project would turn itself into a business down the road.
