Youth Working Group Interest Form | Food Policy Council (FPC) of Buffalo & Erie County

Youth voices often get overlooked. The Food Policy Council of Buffalo and Erie County (FPC) would like to see this change by providing a space where youth feel empowered to advocate for themselves and their communities. The FPC is looking to include youth insight through a Youth Working Group (YWG). This group would be comprised of 5-6 high school age youth that are interested in food systems and policies to help engage youth and add their valued opinions and ideas to the table.

Focus areas for the YWG:

Food access
School lunches
Land access
A group project (youth determined) that will be presented to the FPC
Any other topics of interest related to our local food system

The YWG will meet monthly and additionally join FPC meetings quarterly. YWG meetings will be a mix of in-person and virtual with field trips to spaces within Erie County that are related to the food system.
