History
From 2009 to 2013, local food system partners championed for the need for a Food Policy Council in Buffalo and Erie County. Learn more about key events in the formation of the council.
Efforts
The Food Policy Council of Buffalo & Erie County has a Strategic Plan to help facilitate a strong infrastructure for the council and its efforts, and an Executive Committee who evaluates progress and adjusts efforts to ensure the council stays on course.
The Food Policy Council of Buffalo & Erie County adopted a Local Food Action Plan in December 2020. Community members and stakeholders are encouraged to fill out a Declaration of Support if they agree with the actions and strategies listed. To inform the council of community priorities, please take the Buffalo and Erie County Local Food Action Plan Survey.
