The Erie County Department of Health is developing a tool kit/resources for pediatrician offices, and educating the physician community about the Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) process.

Erie County supplemented funding for the Summer Youth Employment Program for special programming for youth at risk of gun violence.

Erie County Department of Probation expanded the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) to increase the number of visits to a probationer with a history of gun violence, supporting transition to life after incarceration.

The University at Buffalo School of Social Work and the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions developed an environmental scan to describe current gun violence prevention activities.

The University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine applied for funding to develop resources for local physicians to routinize gun violence screening and provide resources to families at risk of gun violence.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office Behavioral Threat Assessment team promotes gun safety and education, supplying 100 gun locks and accompanying gun safety information to use during interactions with the public.

Springville-Griffith Institute (SGI) Central School District passed a resolution in support of BeSmart and gun safety initiatives. SGI also produced a video that emphasizes BE SMART themes for safe gun storage
