Storefront Revitalization Grant Program

Due to the overwhelming response to our original grant and the number of unfunded projects that remain to be awarded, no new applications are being accepted for the additional $5 million the County Executive has announced on 4/13/2023.  We will continue to fund projects from the existing applicant pool.

We will contact existing applicants when the additional funding becomes available.

Storefront Revitalization Program

On 4/13/2023 County Executive Poloncarz announced an additional $5 million to continue funding Storefront Revitalization projects that previously applied but were not awarded funding.  Last year, we received 678 applications from qualifying businesses.  Unfortunately, Erie County had only enough funds to fund 260 grants.

Due to this overwhelming response, and the number of unfunded projects, the additional $5 million will be used to fun businesses in the existing applicant pool.  Eligible businesses for the new funding will be contacted when funding becomes available.

Please see this Frequently Asked Questions PDF document for details regarding this program.  A corresponding PowerPoint document can be found HERE.

On Monday, August 29th, 2022 at 6:30pm the Department of Environment and Planning held an online orientation meeting for awarded business owners.  The Powerpoint document that was used during the orientation meeting is available HERE.

The orientation meeting was recorded and can be seen HERE.
