1. Program Description
The Erie County Department of Personnel may send text messages (SMS/MMS) to individuals who have provided their mobile telephone number and consented to receive applicable messages.
Messages may relate to employment applications, recruitment, interview scheduling, application status, civil service examinations, examination-related notifications, employee benefits, health insurance enrollment deadlines, required documentation, employment status, and other administrative matters handled by the Department of Personnel.
The Department of Personnel does not use this messaging program to send marketing or promotional messages.
2. Consent to Receive Messages
By affirmatively opting in to receive text messages from the Erie County Department of Personnel, you authorize the Department to send messages to the mobile telephone number you provided for the purposes described in these Terms and Conditions.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of submitting an employment application, being considered for employment, or maintaining employment.
Message frequency may vary depending on your interactions with the Department and applicable employment or administrative requirements.
3. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you and to messages you send in response. Your wireless carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply. The Department of Personnel is not responsible for charges imposed by your wireless carrier.
4. Opting Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from the Erie County Department of Personnel.
Following your opt-out request, you will no longer receive messages through the applicable messaging program, except for a confirmation of your opt-out or other messages permitted or required to administer your request.
If you participate in multiple messaging programs, opting out of one program may not automatically opt you out of all other programs. Contact the Department of Personnel if you wish to withdraw consent across all applicable Department messaging programs.

6. Privacy
The Department of Personnel uses mobile telephone numbers and related messaging information to administer authorized recruitment, civil service, benefits, and employment-related communications and to manage messaging preferences, including consent and opt-out requests.
The Department does not sell mobile telephone numbers or SMS consent information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that assist the Department in delivering and administering text messages, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
Individuals should not submit sensitive personal, medical, financial, or other confidential information in response to a text message.
7. Supported Carriers and Message Delivery
Message delivery is subject to your wireless carrier's network availability and other technical limitations. The Department of Personnel and its messaging service providers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Changes to These Terms
The Department of Personnel may update these Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be made available through the Department's website or applicable messaging enrollment process. Any changes to the scope of consent will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements.
