Title of Position                     Administrative Coordinator, Job Group IX (1 vacancy) 

Shift:                                      1 full time permanent 

                                               Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm 

Starting Annual Salary:     $55,590 (for new county employees); or

                                             $55,590-$70,250 (for current CSEA county employees Steps 0-5; and step to step)                                     

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Assists the Deputy Director of Administration in handling administrative office duties;
  • Supervises, assigns and coordinates the work of the legal stenographers, and other subordinate staff;
  • Orders and schedules maintenance service for all equipment utilized by the clerical support staff;
  • Plans and oversees the implementation of department staff, development and training program;
  • Interviews job applicants, conducts orientation sessions for the new employees, and advises the deputy on personnel matters; and
  • Supervises the maintenance and distribution of supplies. 

PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: 

Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology and of the proper form and content of legal documents; thorough knowledge of office technology, procedures and equipment; ability to provide sound supervision for a large legal stenographic and clerical staff; ability to establish and maintain a legal office filing system, ability to work effectively with professional and executive staff; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions; sound judgment; initiative; dependability; resourcefulness; tact; physical conditions commensurate with the demands of the position. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Graduation from a high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, supplemented by courses in stenography, typing, and electronic data systems and six years of stenographic experience, at least three in legal stenography, two years of which was in a supervisory capacity. 

NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
