Title of Position: ASSISTANT RESEARCH ANALYST (1 full time provisional*)

Shift: Monday- Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm

Starting Annual Salary: $44,755 (for new county employees) $44,755-$55,180 (for current county employees)

*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three.

Who we are looking for:

Erie County is looking for a focused, hard working individual for the position of Assistant Research Analyst within the department of Senior Services. If you are a numbers person that wants to make a difference in your community-this job is for you! Erie County Senior Services serves the aging community and their caregivers. We are continually growing and changing with the world around us to adapt to those serving and being served. We have added programs and we're looking to continue that trend. The Assistant Research Analyst collects data for the purpose of reporting, monitoring and evaluation of services provided by the Department. This position is involved in the full process of collecting data to be sure we are meeting our goals as a department- from administering surveys, to collecting and analyzing data to updating policies and procedures- keeping our goal of meeting the needs of seniors. You will also provide technical support to staff and subcontractors out in the field.

• Ability to use standard software for data collection and analysis (Excel, SPSS, etc);

• Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree including sixteen (16) semester credit hours in applied research, data management or statistics.

NOTE: One (1) year of experience in data management or applied research may be substituted for sixteen (16) semester credit hours.

• Eligibility of NYS driver's license required at time of application. Possession of the license at time of appointment. Since the position requires travel, candidates must demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the job in carrying out their responsibility in any location to which travel is required, including some locations not accessible by public transportation.
