This position is classified within the competitive class of the New York State Civil Service system and, as such, is subject to the examination and appointment requirements prescribed by Civil Service Law. Permanent appointment will be contingent upon success in a future civil service examination and subsequent placement on the resulting eligible list. Being reachable on the eligible list does not guarantee permanent appointment. Appointments will be made in accordance with the New York State Civil Service Law, including “Rule-of-Three”.

Distinguishing Features of the Class
Under the general supervision of an administrative employee of higher rank, plans, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate employees and outside agency personnel for auditing purposes and accounting for reimbursable funds.
Typical Work Activities
- Develops an accounting system for the purpose of fiscal control of a reimbursable program of health services rendered by local, public, and private agencies;
- Maintains detailed system of financial records and statistics of participating agencies costs and activities;
- Prepares reports and graphic material for management planning and evaluation of services
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance and four (4) years of satisfactory experience in general accounting and/or auditing, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible supervisory or administrative position; or
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in (a) above.

Remote Work Eligibility
This position may be eligible for one remote workday per week, subject to departmental needs and supervisory approval, after successful completion of the probationary period. Participation in remote work is not guaranteed and may be modified or revoked at any time.
