JOB GROUP & SALARY SCALE:                   13 - $73,861 - $94,698

*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Possession of a Master’s degree* in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology or related title that meets the standards set forth in Title 8, Article 165 of New York State’s Education Law and Subpart 79-13 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education and two (2) years’ experience in the clinical laboratory section for which appointment is sought and of which was in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or:

B) Possession of a Bachelor's degree* in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology or related title that meets the standards set forth in Title 8, Article 165 of New York State’s Education Law and Subpart 79-13 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education and four (4) years of technical clinical laboratory experience (in accordance with New York Code, Rules and Regulations, Title 10, Part 58-1.4), of which at least two (2) years of which were in an administrative or supervisory capacity in an acceptable laboratory; or: 

C) Possession of a license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist as issued by the New York State Education Department and four (4) years of technical clinical laboratory experience (in accordance with New York Code, Rules and Regulations, Title 10, Part 58-1.4), of which at least two (2) years of which were in an administrative or supervisory capacity and of which two (2) years were in an acceptable laboratory.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of 42 CFR 73 (“Select Agent Rule”), including, but not limited to successful completion of a Security Risk Assessment (i.e. “background check”) to be conducted by the United States Department of Justice.
• Possession of a license or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist as issued by the New York State Education Department at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment. 

NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting the full-time experience requirements
