TITLE OF POSITION: CLERK TYPIST
LOCATION: SNAP Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
JOB GROUP: 1 ($37,881 STARTING ANNUAL SALARY)
THE ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES IS SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; working knowledge of business arithmetic and English; working knowledge of the functions and organization of the agency to which assigned; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions: ability to write legibly; dependability; clerical aptitude: tact and courtesy; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by a course in typing.
NOTE 1: Office clerical experience, including typing, may be substituted for the high school requirement on a year for year basis.
NOTE 2: Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher, can substitute for the required typing course.
NOTE 3: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
Candidates must also take the Civil Service Exam once it is announced and be reachable by score to maintain the position.
