TITLE OF POSITION: Forensic Mental Health MICA Specialist*

SALARY: Starts at $66,277 Annually

This is advanced professional forensic mental health work which involves assessment, triage, and treatment services for individuals with co- occurring mental health and addictive disorders incarcerated in a county penal facility in Erie County. In addition, this position provides clinical consultation, education, training, and mentoring supports to other staff regarding issues of risk and treatment for the identified high-risk co- occurring population. The work allows leeway for independent judgment and action. Provides clinical supervision to Forensic Mental Health Specialist I’s. Work is performed under the
general supervision of an administrative employee of higher rank. The position performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Master’s Degree** in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling and three (3) years of experience working with individuals with serious mental health and addictive disorders.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a New York State Department of Education license to practice as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor at time of permanent appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment.

NOTE 2: Verifiable part-time and / or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
Candidates must be legal residents of Erie County at the time of Provisional appointment, for at least one month immediately preceding the date of the written test, AND at the time of Permanent appointment.
