The work involves procuring grants from government agencies, corporations, foundations and other grant-making organizations to support the Erie County Office of Health Equity and other initiatives that will enhance the Office of Health Equity. The incumbent researches grant opportunities, prepares proposals, submits grant applications, and tracks the status of such proposals and applications made to grant-making entities. Work is performed under the general direction of a higher-ranking employee. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Performs comprehensive research, including online research, to identify potential grant opportunities and follow through with the subsequent completion of grant proposals and applications; Prepares and monitors all financial reporting required by granting agency; Develops and manages grant tracking database and electronic grant files, and monitors status of grant applications; Coordinates compiling grant-related statistics and reports; Assists in preparing other reports as requested; Assists in developing annual plan for grant procurement; Coordinates with the Office of Health Equity the administration in the implementation of awarded grants; Attends workshops and participates in webinars related to preparing grant applications and implementing grant-funded programs.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Good knowledge of resources for grant funding such as public entities, corporations, funding foundations and individuals; strong oral and written communications skills.; strong research skills; ability to analyze data; ability to work on more than one project at a time and meet multiple deadlines; ability to utilize a variety of electronic software applications, sound judgment; resourcefulness; initiative; tact; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A.) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience in grant writing, grant procurement, raising funds or coordination of a public or private grant program; or:
B.) Completion of a minimum of sixty (60) semester credit hours of study from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university and four (4) years of experience in grant writing, grant procurement, raising funds, or coordination of a public or private grant program; or:
C.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
