Title of Position Legal Data Systems Coordinator JG VII (2 positions)
Shift: Full time Provisional
Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm or 9:00am-5:00pm
Starting Annual Salary: $49,379 (for new county employees)
$49,379-$60,884 for current CSEA county employees steps 1-5 (A-F also step to step)

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
• Makes recommendations and participates in the development, evaluation and revision of office, data
entry and control procedures including work flow, forms design and determination of staff assignments,
responsibilities and requirements;
• Supervises and coordinates data entry including form and document verification, scheduling and task
assignments, as well as assisting with such tasks;
• Supervise data control operations associated with the verification of data and records through the use of
the on-line system, reports and listings;
• Makes recommendations and updates user documentation and manuals associated with legal data
processing systems;
• Trains staff and users in the operation of remote terminal site equipment, office clerical and system
procedures;
• Coordinates and assists in clerical processing including record keeping, filing, folder and printout
management, and on-line inquiries.
PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
• Good knowledge of legal office operations, procedures and terminology;
• A basic understanding of the Criminal Justice System;
• Knowledge of legal management information system, including data entry, data control, in-line retrieval
of information, reporting procedure;
• Must possess a basic understanding of office automation;
• The operation of a computer system, including job execution and control;
• Working knowledge of data processing equipment, capabilities and its application to effective
departmental management;
• Ability to work well with others;
• Skill in developing and maintaining effective interpersonal relations;
• Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions;
• Ability to apply knowledge of data processing communications capabilities to solve problems and
enhance operating systems;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Completion of two (2) years of study from a regionally accredited or N.Y. State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university in management information, computer science or related field and three (3) years of data processing experience, at least two (2) years which must have been in a legal office or criminal justice agency with one (1) year in computerized case tracking or similar system; or,
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of data processing experience, at least two (2) years of which must have been in a legal office or criminal justice agency, with one (1) year in computerized case tracking or similar system; or;
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
