MAINTENANCE WORKER-SEWERAGE

SALARY: $39,385 - $47,755

The Erie County Division of Sewerage Management (DSM) in the Department of Environment & Planning is seeking a Maintenance Worker-Sewerage that will perform general maintenance and repair of county sewerage systems, buildings, equipment, grounds and sewerage facilities and appurtenances. Assists in the operation of hydraulic flusher and other related vehicles and equipment. CDL driver’s permit is required at time of appointment and CDL driver’s license is required within 6 months and must be maintained during duration of appointment. Employer will assist with training and acquiring said license.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:  Good knowledge of sewers, plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, building cleaning procedures, and/or related supplies and equipment; good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of building services; ability to prepare reports and maintain records and follow routine oral and written instructions.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of experience in sewer maintenance, construction or repair, or similar skilled mechanical work such as plumbing or pipefitting or two years of experience in a Laborer or similar position in a sewerage facility.
