TITLE OF POSITION:                  Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Specialist  (Provisional)   

SALARY:              $50,839 - $63,638 Annually

*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three.

The work involves monitoring, analyzing and reporting on contracts awarded through the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Program within the Erie County. The incumbent reviews and assesses vendors’ performance against the terms and conditions of contractual terms, County policies and procedures, and Federal, State and local laws. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Coordinator with considerable leeway for the exercise of independent judgment. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience in contract compliance, procurement or minority business enterprise or experience in the development and administration of programs designed to facilitate minority community access to employment or business opportunities in the public or private sector.

NOTE:            Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered graduate school with an MBA or related Master’s Degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience above.

NOTE:            Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
