TITLE OF POSITION:        MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE SPECIALIST 

LOCATION & HOURS:      95 FRANKLIN STREET, FULL TIME M-F

SALARY:                               JG 8 $52,364- $65,547

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

Solicits, receives, compiles and maintains appropriate MWBE Program-related information;

Inputs vendor, contractual and bidding-related data into electronic tracking systems; maintains and recalls data stored in electronic tracking systems; Reviews and analyzes multiple sources of information such as contracts, vendor-supplied information and related documentation for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations, contractual terms, etc.; Assist with preparation and distribution of data reports on a regular basis and as requested; May participate in investigation of possible instances of vendor non-compliance; May assist in preparing and distributing written correspondence related to compliance matters including, but not 

limited to, instances of non-compliance and findings of investigations; May compile information, research and participate in the proposal of changes to MWBE requirements in accordance

with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, etc.; Assists in the design and/or review of requests for proposals, vendor bids and contracts; May attend and assist in the administration of pre-bid, pre-solicitation and post-award conferences; May assist in the preparation and submission of New York State-required MWBE reports; Researches and notifies vendors of pending expiration of MWBE certification; Researches and tracks diversity-related trends in areas of business such as construction, procurement, employment, design, goods and services;

May conduct site visits and interviews vendors as needed; May serve as a liaison to a variety of constituents including, but not limited to, internal departments, vendors, governmental representatives, community groups, business associations and auditors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in contract compliance, procurement or minority business enterprise or experience in the development and administration of programs designed to facilitate minority community access to employment or business opportunities in the public or private sector.

NOTE 1: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered graduate school with an MBA or related Master’s Degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience above.

NOTE 2: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
