FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: 

Good knowledge of modern methods, principles and techniques of data processing, electronic computing machines and data communications including networks protocols, line conditioning, modem devices, and multi-plexing; working knowledge of data processing equipment capabilities and its application to effective departmental management; ability to work well with others; skill in developing and maintaining effective interpersonal relations; ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions; ability to apply knowledge of data processing communications capabilities to solve problems and enhance operating systems; sound oral and written communication skills; a high degree of logical reasoning and resourcefulness; sound judgment and initiative; tact; patience; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A.) Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and one (1) year experience in Communication Processing and Control, which involved responsibility for the installation and operation of Network Controls, Modems, Multiplexers, Front End Processors, Line Monitors, Analog and/or Digital Communication Lines and understanding the functioning of a tele-processing operation; or:

B.) Possession of an Associate's degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in Communication Processing and Control, at least one (1) year of which involved responsibility for the installation and operation of Network Controls, Modems, Multiplexers, Front End Processors, Line Monitors, Analog and/or Digital Communication Lines and understanding the functioning of a tele-processing operation; or:

C.) Graduation from high school and five (5) years of experience in Communications Processing and Control, at least one (1) year of which involved the responsibility for the installation and operation of Network Controls, Modems, Multiplexers, Front End Processors, Line Monitors, Analog and/or Digital Communication Lines and understanding the functioning of a tele-processing operation; or:

D.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C).

NOTE:  Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full time experience requirements.
