TITLE OF POSITIONS:                  PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER III  Full Time 

POSITIONS:                                  51016851 (TEMPORARY)

SALARY:    $47,137- $56,717 (AFSCME Job Group JG-7)

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Good knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance procedures and equipment; ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks; skilled in the operation of heavy and light motorized equipment; ability to exhibit leadership and management skills through Park Projects; semi-skilled in one or more of the building trades; ability to get along well with others; ability to follow both oral and written instructions; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A.) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience in grounds, buildings or park maintenance; or:

B.) Five (5) years of experience in grounds, buildings or park maintenance; or:

C.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B)

Note: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full time experience requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must obtain a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B without airbrake restriction within six (6) months of appointment and maintain throughout subsequent period of employment; and
  2. Must be an apprentice pesticide applicator at time of appointment and maintain this status through subsequent period of employment; and
  3. Must possess accredited chainsaw certification Levels 1 at time of appointment and obtain accredited chainsaw certification Level 2 within six (6) months of appointment, and maintain certification throughout subsequent period of employment; and
  4. Must be able to lift and carry unassisted packages, bags, etc. weighing up to 50lbs
