TITLE OF POSITION: PERSONNEL CLERK*
LOCATION: PERSONNEL-SOCIAL SERVICES
ANNUAL STARTING SALARY: $43,950 (CSEA JOB GROUP: JG 6)
*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three.
The work involves supervising and participating in a variety of personnel clerical duties including the preparation and maintenance of Personnel records and the processing of personnel forms. Under the general supervision of an administrative employee of higher rank, an employee in this class is responsible for the specialized personnel clerical work in a department or agency. Although work is generally performed according to established procedures, independent judgment and action is sometimes required. Direct supervision may be exercised over other clerical employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of satisfactory office experience, including two (2) years of responsible personnel clerical experience.
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements
