Title of Position: Project Coordinator – DA STRIVE Program, Job Group X (1 vacancy)
Shift: 1 full time temporary
Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm
Starting Annual Salary: $59,024 (for new county employees);
$59,024-$74,938 (for current CSEA county employees Steps 0-5; and step to step)
 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
• Implement evidence-based IPV strategies identified by the Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate 
Partner Violence (STRIVE) Executive Board and the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS);
• Responsible to relevant stakeholders and resources in the County to ensure a coordinated community 
response (CCR) to intimate partner violence (IPV);
• Plans and conducts presentations and trainings for law enforcement, prosecution, advocacy groups, 
community groups, and others on domestic and intimate partner violence;
• Identify and address training needs for CCR stakeholders. Promoting professional development in 
evidence-based strategies;
• Works with applicable grant personnel and the STRIVE Executive Board on matters related to 
compliance with DCJS guidelines, such as required reporting, budget, and requests for information;
• Receives, reviews, and analyzes data to evaluate effectiveness of the program;
• Prepares grant applications in collaboration with the STRIVE Executive Board; 
• Monitors and reports progress to the direct supervisor, the STRIVE Executive Board and DCJS;
• Attends internal STRIVE meetings locally as well as at the statewide level, including meetings with 
community and law enforcement agencies


PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Thorough knowledge of trauma-informed, survivor-centered approaches and evidence-based intimate partner violence strategies (IPV); thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures and techniques of organization and planning to oversee dynamic, multidisciplinary initiatives; thorough knowledge of training practices and techniques; effective written and oral presentation skills; ability to understand the NYS Criminal Procedure Law related to IPV as well as the function and structure of law enforcement and community organizations comprising the STRIVE Executive Board; ability to coordinate and sustain multi-agency collaborative frameworks; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to maintain and prepare records; ability to supervise staff; dependability; initiative; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field, plus at least 2 years of professional experience in a social work or criminal justice agency, one year of which must include as its primary focus full-time domestic violence work including the investigation and prosecution of cases or the provision of survivor services.
B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor’s 
degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field, plus at least 3 years of professional 
experience in a social work or criminal justice agency, one year of which must include as its primary focus full-time domestic violence work including the investigation and prosecution of cases or the provision of survivor services.
C) An Associate’s degree or 60 semester credit hours from a regionally accredited or NYS registered 
college or university, plus at least 5 years of professional experience in a social work or criminal justice agency, one year of which must include as its primary focus full-time domestic violence work including the investigation and prosecution of cases or the provision of survivor services.
D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), or (C) above.
 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Eligibility for a New York State driver license at the time of application. Possession of the license and use of a private automobile required at time of appointment and throughout period of employment.
Candidates must be able to work flexible hours including evening and weekends.
