ANNUAL SALARY:              $52,364 - $65,547 (CSEA JOB GROUP 08)

*Please note that candidates for this position must have signed up to take the Scene Investigator (# 88312010) Civil Service exam that will be given on 05/03/2025.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree* in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Life Sciences or a related field; or:

B) Completion of 60 semester credit hours and two (2) years of experience in medical, human services, criminal or related field investigations; or:

 C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

• Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's License and have automotive transportation available for use at the time of appointment; and
• Candidates must obtain American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigations (ABMDI) basic certification within two years of employment and advanced certification within six years of employment.

 NOTE 2:  Verifiable part-time experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements
