OFFICE OF ERIE COUNTY COMPTROLLER

SENIOR APPLICATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

The Erie County Comptroller's Office is soliciting resumes and letters of interest from prospective applicants for the position of SENIOR APPLICATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST.

This position performs duties in the Accounting Division of the Comptroller’s Office. The work involves supervising, monitoring, coordinating, installing a troubleshooting E.D.P. application systems and sub-systems, including Systems Application Products (SAP), used by County departments

This is a classified competitive civil service position in the CSEA bargaining unit. The position is Job Group 15, with a salary starting at $86,904 (step 0) to $127,643 (step F).  The salary is not negotiable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

A) Possession of a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of data processing experience in programming and systems development, at least three (3) years of experience in installation and administration of third party financial, mathematical or technical application software; or: 

B) Possession of an Associate's degree in Data Processing or Computer Science and seven (7) years of data processing experience in programming and systems development, at least three (3) years of experience in installation and administration of third party financial, mathematical or technical application software; or: 

C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), and (B). 

NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants for designated positions in the Department of Social Services that may have access to federal tax information to perform his/her job duties shall be subject to a suitability background check investigation, including FBI fingerprinting, local law enforcement check, and verification check of citizenship/residency. A criminal record does not necessarily disqualify applicants from employment, rather an individualized determination will be made. The cost of the background check will be assumed by the Department of Social Services.
