JOB GROUP:                                 11 (STARTING ANNUAL SALARY: $60,601)

*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Manages and supervises preparation of reimbursement forms and Claims Control activities
  • Determines administrative costs by labor distribution of payroll, overtime, fringe benefits, inter-fund billings, local area mileage, maintenance in lieu of rent and all other non-salary costs
  • Completes and submits all special project claiming, Home Energy Assistance Program claiming and administrative claim reporting; Creates receivables to record and recognize all anticipated federal and state revenues using the SAP system
  • Tracks and accounts for all monies received thru the State's claims settlement process;
  • Applies State claim's settlements to existing receivables
  • Maintains records to track any and all outstanding receivable amounts thru SAP Accounts Receivable aging list; Compiles results of audits and schedules
  • Supervises clerical personnel processing State and Federal claims form the Social Services Department; Maintains supportive records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of New York State Social Services claims processing and financial recordkeeping experience of which two (2) years shall have been in a supervisory capacity; or:

B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree and six (6) years of New York State Social Services claims processing and financial recordkeeping experience of which three (3) years shall have been in a supervisory capacity; or:

C) Graduation from high school-or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and eight (8) years of New York State Social Services claims processing and financial recordkeeping experience of which four (4) years shall have been in a supervisory capacity; or:

D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C).

Candidates must sign up and sit for the written exam when it is announced.
