TITLE OF POSITION: Senior Technical Support Services Specialist *
STARTING ANNUAL SALARY: $73,861 (Job Grade – 13)
*Please note that this position is a competitive civil service title and will require a civil service examination in the future. After the exam, selection for permanent appointment(s) will be made from reachable candidate(s) on the eligible list according to the NYS Civil Service Rule of Three.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE FOR TAKING THE TEST: Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class and must be serving and have served continuously on a permanent or contingent permanent basis in the competitive class for 12 months immediately preceding June 25, 2025 in a Job Grade XII position plus the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Possession of a Bachelor's degree* and three (3) years of systems software, systems analysis or systems programming experience; or:
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of data processing experience, at least three (3) years of which involved systems software, systems analysis or systems programming experience; or:
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full time experience requirements.
Candidates must sit for the exam once it is announced and be reachable within the top 3 scores to maintain the position.
