Staff Auditor

*Eligible for potential step pay scale increase after 26 weeks of employment. 

The work involves performing financial, compliance,  management, performance, and special emphasis audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards, procedures and techniques. The work requires summarizing, analyzing and evaluating audit segments and developing and writing valid audit reports with supportive conclusions and/or professional work in the conduct of audits of County departments and/or agencies. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in finalizing audit reports, and making appropriate comments and recommendations. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Deputy Comptroller-Audit or other higher ranking administrative employee involved in the audit function. Does related work as required. 

PROMOTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class and must be serving and have served continuously on a permanent or contingent permanent basis, which may include any immediately proceeding provisional time served, in the competitive class for 24 months immediately preceding the date of the posting as an Accountant Auditor (CSEA JG:9)

NOTE : Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements

This is a provisional appointment and the incumbent will need to take a future exam and be reachable on resulting Civil Service eligible list.
