JOB GROUP & SALARY SCALE:              11 - $62,419 - $79,192

MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS: 

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree** or higher in a natural science, a forensic science, an engineering science, biomedical technology, pharmacology, criminalistics or toxicology, including or supplemented by at least twelve (12) credit hours in chemistry and one (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent experience* in a forensic laboratory conducting toxicological analysis.

NOTES: 

 1. Incumbents must pass a competency test prior to assuming casework responsibility, and must pass a proficiency test annually, in accordance with accreditation requirements. 

2. Additional continuing education and training may be required as a condition of employment.

 3. *Individuals who do not meet the experience requirements as outlined above may be appointed as a trainee, serving at a job grade 10 for a period not to exceed one (1) year before being made permanent into the full Toxicologist I title at job grade 11 All other minimum qualifications must be met prior to any appointment. 

4. **Your degree/credit hours must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
