Dare to Repair Cafe

Dare to Repair Cafes are pop-up community events where individuals can bring broken items and have a team of volunteer fixers try to repair the item for free! Last year, we fixed 74% of all items brought in for repair, diverted 6,460 lbs of waste from local landfills, and offset 51,716 lbs of carbon, while saving our community $77,252 in replacement costs.
Current repair categories include small appliances, lamps, electronics, bicycles, computers, sewing machines, clothing, and textiles. Please, no gas-powered items or TVs.

Rain Barrel Painting Contest Award Ceremony

Rainwater is a resource that benefits ALL OF US!

Join us in celebrating the creativity and environmental awareness of local youth at the Rain Barrel Painting Contest Award Ceremony!

Rain barrels are more than just art pieces—they are essential tools for reducing contaminated stormwater runoff, which is the #1 cause of pollution in our waterways. Through this contest, students learned about environmental conservation while showcasing their creativity.

Environmental Management Council (EMC) Environmental Excellence Award Ceremony

Join us for the awards ceremony recognizing outstanding projects by municipal and non-profit organizations in Erie County that have made a positive impact on the environment. Since 2015, this program has celebrated initiatives in areas such as planning, natural resource protection, air and water quality, ecosystem health, energy, agriculture, waste management, and climate change. These projects serve as models for replication across our region and beyond. We look forward to honoring this year's winners! Read about previous winners and learn how to apply/nominate here.
