We're thrilled to invite you to contribute to the Emergency Eats Cookbook, a unique collection of recipes designed for times when resources are limited.
Share your culinary creativity by submitting a recipe that costs $10 or less to make and uses common pantry items.
We’re looking for inventive dishes that require little to no baking or specialty equipment.
Submission Guidelines:
- Cost: Recipes should be about $10 or less to make.
- Ingredients: Use common pantry items. You can find a list of common pantry items here: https://www3.erie.gov/fpc/pantry-items.
- Preparation: Aim for minimal baking and no need for specialty equipment - think of a kitchen in an emergency situation!
Categories & Prizes:
Four lucky submissions will be chosen to win a Food Policy Council tote bag, a printed and bound copy of the cookbook, and a $25 grocery gift card of your choosing.
Recipes should be submitted in at least one of the following categories:
- Most Resourceful: Utilize common pantry items and prepare without electricity or gas.
- Healthiest: Offer a low-sodium, low-sugar recipe with a balanced ratio of protein and carbohydrates.
- Best Cultural Representation: Reflect tradition, history, and identity of a specific culture, promoting understanding and appreciation of underrepresented cuisines.
- Most Cost-Effective: Create a recipe that delivers great value, producing a large amount of food for a low cost.
