AMHERST, NY—Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village [BNHV] will open on May 14, 2026, for its 2026 Season. Throughout the 2026 Season, BNHV will offer free general admission to all visitors.

“2026 is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, and this milestone is an opportunity for us all to reflect on all 250 years of American history. As a history museum in the Buffalo Niagara region, we wanted to do even more in this commemorative year to make history as accessible as possible for all members of our community. So, thanks to a generous anonymous donor, all visits to BNHV during regular General Admission hours will be enjoyed free of charge,” said Executive Director, Dr. Carrie Stiver.

BNHV will be open for General Admission from May 14th to September 26th. General Admission hours are Thursday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm. Visitors can enjoy the Museum, Historic Village, and Farmstead during General Admission hours. The BNHV campus features local history exhibitions, ten historic structures, heritage breed sheep and chickens, seasonal crops and gardens, and more.
