The closing dates for both Regular (Heating) and Emergency benefit components have been extended beyond their original closing dates of March 17, 2025. It is anticipated that both components will continue to operate until early April 2025, dependent upon available funding. The HEAP office will continue to accept Regular HEAP applications by mail, in person (460 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14202) and online. The online Regular HEAP application will remain available to applicants through myBenefits.
Households can additionally apply for Emergency HEAP benefits after this program closes for the season, which households that did not receive a current year Regular HEAP benefit needing to complete the HEAP application in addition to the Emergency Benefit Budget Worksheet (LDSS-3594B). The applying household will also be assessed for basic eligibility.
