2023 Funding Application Information

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning (“DEP”), in conjunction with the Erie County Arts and Cultural Advisory Board (“EACAB”), will be kicking off the 2023 Arts and Cultural Funding Program with an application release on Tuesday, February 22nd.

New Applicants must register for access to the applications at www.erie.gov/Cultural/AccountRequest. Only one account will be created per organization. This account should enable applicants to complete their applications in multiple sessions before submission.

Prior applicants can continue using their existing accounts to update their application for 2023.

The funding and application levels remain as established in 2020.

LEVEL*

MAX . GRANT REQUEST

MAX. % OF BUDGET FOR THE MOST RECENTLY COMPLETED FISCAL YEAR

1

≤$50,000

≤20%

2

>$50,000 up to $150,000

≤20%

3

>$150,000

No set limit however, requests greater than 20% will be detrimental to an organization’s score.

* If any of these thresholds are surpassed, you must complete the next level application. For example, if your organization meets the Level 1 threshold for operating budget but is requesting more than $50,000, you must complete the Level 2 Form

Level 1 applications are due by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022.

Level 2 and Level 3 applications are due by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022.

Submission assistance is available until 4:30pm each day.

Please note that funding requests are not guaranteed; all applications will be reviewed, as before, based on their financial management, governance, and programming, with funding distributed in accordance with available funds for the 2023 calendar year.

All organizations applying must have at least one (1) year as a 501c3 organization to be eligible to apply. All attachments are required to be consistent with the organizations’ federal and state non-profit reporting requirements.

Organizations meeting the stated Eligibility Requirements must submit their application online at www.erie.gov/Cultural. Late or incomplete applications will negatively affect an organization’s application score. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Erie Arts & Cultural Advisory Board and DEP staff.

Organizations are strongly encouraged to attend an applicant briefing. Two virtual briefings will be provided through Webex. One will cater to new applicants, and the second will be for prior applicants. DEP staff and EACAB Board members will provide an overview of the application, a walkthrough of account registration and application completion/submission, and answer questions. Interested persons may attend more than one briefing (as usual, only one application per organization will be considered for funding). Recordings will be available on the County's YouTube page.

NEW Applicants Briefing: Monday, February 28th, 2022 at 6:30pm

PRIOR Applicants Briefing: Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 6:30pm

An alternate briefing may be scheduled depending on demand for anyone unable to attend the scheduled briefings. The alternate briefing will provide an overview of the online application but might not include a complete walkthrough, and answer attendees' questions. Contact Mariely Ortiz at 716-858-1916 or mariely.ortiz@erie.gov if your organization is unable to attend or representatives require special accommodations.

View all eligibility requirements and more details in the Funding Overview page.
