Find Fresh Erie County

About Find Fresh Erie County

The Erie County Office of Health Equity (ECOHE), in partnership with WNY 211, the Food Policy Council of Buffalo and Erie County (FPC), Erie Grown, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Healthy Community Store Initiative (HCSI), the University at Buffalo Food Systems Planning and Healthy Communities Lab (UB Food Lab), and the WNY Mobile Market Coalition, aims to address food insecurity and promote awareness of fresh food sources in Erie County with a new campaign, called “Find Fresh Erie County.”

“Find Fresh Erie County” will address food insecurity and promote awareness of fresh food sources by facilitating access to fresh produce in Erie County, NY.

Flyer with images of fresh produce contains text that says: Find places to purchase fresh food near you! Text “FINDFRESH” to 898211 to learn more.

Find places to purchase fresh food near you! Text “FINDFRESH” to 898211 to learn more.

Accessing Find Fresh Information

The ECOHE has collected a live database of local fresh food purchasing locations, including grocery and community stores, mobile markets, and farmers' markets. Information can be accessed three ways:

  1. Text “FINDFRESH” to 898211 to opt into messages, including links to fresh food resources
  2. Dial 211 and request information based on your desired location
  3. Visit 211 WNY's searchable resource page and use the search parameters to find resources near you.

The project promotes utilization of WNY 211 services to help Erie County residents find nearby locations selling fresh produce. Promotion of these services will be advertised through a public transit marketing campaign in 2025, visible on public transit buses and bus shelters throughout Erie County.
