The Town Highway Department picks up brush on a regular basis during the months of April through November. During the first week of the month brush is picked up for properties on the North side of Broadway and on the third week of the month, brush is picked up for properties on the South side of Broadway. Brush should be out on Monday mornings by 6:30am, NO return trips will be made. All brush should be piled no more than three feet high with cut ends facing the road. No limbs over ten inches in diameter will be picked up.

All brush up to 4 inches in diameter should be placed at curbside on collection day, butt end to the street. Brush, shrubs and trees roots must be separated from items being placed out for collection. Brush, shrubs and tree roots, which can be picked up by hand can be placed out for collection at the same time in a separate pile. Brush, shrubs and tree roots which cannot be picked up by hand will not be picked up. Brush will be picked up on the first Monday of the month, unless the first Monday of the month falls on a holiday. Grass clippings, lawn rakings, small garden plants, twigs and roots shall be placed in containers at curbside for collection on Mondays (unless it is a holiday, if that is the case, it will be Tuesday) until leaf collection begins. At that time collection will be on a continuous rotation throughout the village. Leaves should be placed on a pile in a row at curbside - not in the street. Collection will take place in the fall as weather permits.

Each year from April 1st through November 30th your yard waste will be collected separately on your designated collection day and transported to the Town Compost Facility. All yard waste must be placed within five feet of the curb, but not in the street. It must be separate from the garbage and trash as well as lumber. Material must be placed in containers with two manufactured handles, such as garbage cans or bushel baskets with the covers removed, or in paper yard waste bags. Branches and shrub trimmings up to six inches in diameter should be cut into easily handled lengths, no greater than four feet even if placed in cans or securely bundled with biodegradable material, not to exceed 60 pounds. If bundled, please use biodegradable material. Large volume branches, logs, and stumps larger than six inches in diameter will be picked up by the Town Highway Department during Spring Clean-up only.

2nd and 4th Monday March – October: Small brush, hedge and tree clippings, grass clippings, and vines must be containerized or bundled or in a village tote. Leaves will be picked-up in the Fall only. Rake leaves to between the curb and sidewalk.
