Blue Rhino offers an exchange / recycling program for Blue Rhino brand propane tanks.

For recycling, simple write "R" or "RECYCLE" on the empty tank and take it to a Blue Rhino exchange location.

Be sure to call ahead, as locations can only accept tanks for recycling if they have room to spare. In the event a location does not have room to accept your tank, Blue Rhino recommends simply trying another of their many exchange locations.
