Three qualified items can be brought in-store to the customer service desk for recycling per day for free. Best Buy charges a fee to pick up and haul away appliances and TVs (up to two TVs and computer monitors accepted per day and five laptops accepted per day). See their website for more information.

Commercial Recycling

Blue Rhino offers an exchange / recycling program for Blue Rhino brand propane tanks.

For recycling, simple write "R" or "RECYCLE" on the empty tank and take it to a Blue Rhino exchange location.

Be sure to call ahead, as locations can only accept tanks for recycling if they have room to spare. In the event a location does not have room to accept your tank, Blue Rhino recommends simply trying another of their many exchange locations.

If you have old cell phones or accessories (chargers, earbuds, adapters) or other small electronics like GPS, hand-held gaming systems, cameras, etc, recycle them with the Zoo instead of throwing them away. We accept anything smaller than a laptop at our cell phone recycling bin that's located inside the foyer of the Gorilla building.

City of Buffalo residents can drop off passenger or light truck tires Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM, at 300 Greene Street Buffalo, NY 14206.

Tires are accepted with or without rims. A disposal fee of $ per tire applies.

Gently used clothes, etc.: including rags. Many of the area stores have restrictions on e-waste, please call to confirm before taking any material to the location. Does not accept CRT TVs or CRT computer monitors but will take working flat screen TVs & home audio/theaters. Computers are also accepted, but donors are responsible for removing the data.

Must be at a Walmart AutoCenter. There is no charge to dispose of used motor oil or oil filters at Walmart. You must simply adhere to the five gallons per person per day rule and ensure that the oil is not contaminated with other fluids. 

For building material to be picked up, a WM Bagster Bag must be purchased first. Batteries, electronics, and fluorescents can be mailed in by purchasing kits.
