The Division of Consumer Protection would like to promote events in the community related to Consumer Protection and Public Advocacy awareness and education. If you have an event that you would like to promote, please complete the Event Submission Form online or download a PDF version to submit to our office.

Older Americans Month -

Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2024 theme is Powered by Connection, which recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being. 

Older Americans Month is a great time to make sure that older family members and friends stay safe from scams. Take the time to educate yourself and others about scams that target the elderly!

Beware of Scams Targeting Older Adults

Older adults are often the target of scams. Scammers are savvy and convincing, and their scams are designed to catch people off guard. Don’t be ashamed if you think you or someone you know has been a victim of a scam — it can happen to anyone.
