Have you recently received a text advising 'Latest bill processed. Thanks, name! Here's a little give for you: v5msu.info/Lqlik7vqL ' or 'Apologies for the signal issues on Date, Name! Here's a little compensation: b1zma.info/d8Do7HgKyl.'
The first thing you should do is look at the message. Is it from a phone number? If an actual phone number appears at the top 1(area code) Number? If so, this is a red flag. Messages from your actual phone provider will not have a real phone number or email address listed at the top of the text. Additionally, when your carrier supplies you a link to click in the message, it will contain their actual web address (https://www.att.com/, https://www.verizon.com/, https://www.t-mobile.com/, etc.), not a random address—the random addresses given above link to webpages hosted in foreign countries.
The best advice is if you don't know the person sending a text message or are not expecting a text message with a link, DO NOT CLICK any links provided. Should you receive a link from one of your friends, hover over the link before clicking to ensure the address displayed will direct to what is listed should you click. If in doubt, do not click the link. Pick up the phone and call your friend and see if they sent the message.
If you are ever unsure, err on the side of caution. Do not click any unknown link and reach out to our office, 716-858-6169.
