Leaf Litter Exploration ~Chestnut Ridge Park ~

Location: Chestnut Ridge - Chestnut Ridge Park, Deputy Commissioners Cabin/ XC Ski Trailhead

Join Ranger Nikki for a walk in the woods getting our hands dirty digging through some leaf litter! Come prepared for log flipping and hands on interactions with bugs and worms of all kinds! Let’s explore what is below our feet that goes unseen!

· Location: Chestnut Ridge Park, Deputy Commissioners Cabin/ XC Ski Trailhead 

· Duration: 1-2 hours

· Distance: Less than 1 mile

· Elevation: Small hills but mostly flat

· Surface Description: rocks, dirt and mud

· Equipment Needed: Proper footwear, gloves that you don’t mind getting dirty. All other equipment will be provided

· Other: No stroller/wheelchair accessibility, dogs are welcome on a leash
